Spire Expands Into PSUs
It looks as though the world-wide recession is not really as wide as we might believe. Things in China seem to be humming right along, with many manufacturers expanding into areas that had not been explored in any manner before.
Spire, known primarily for accessories, such as fan controllers, heatsinks, and case modification items, is now spreading out into power supplies.
China-based Spire Corp has just revealed the latest addition to its power supply offer, the BlackMoon XP series of units. Coming in 600W and 700W flavors, the XPs target professionals and PC enthusiasts, have a modular cable design, come with a scratch free, black powder coated enclosure, and are ATX 12V V2.3 compliant.
The new units have an efficiency of over 85% (and are 80Plus Bronze-rated), have I/O short circuit- overload- and over current-protection, a MTBF (mean time before failure) of at least 100,000 hours, two 12V rails, Quad SLI-readiness, and are equipped with a 120mm fan with a maximum sound output of 21 dBA. The PSUs are backed by a two-year warranty and should become available shortly.

The quality must be very good, in order to receive the 80Plus certification. Powder coating is very nice, being much different than what other manufacturers provide. A two year warranty is somewhat short, but at the right price, it could be a great budget buy.
