Microsoft to Release Windows 7 by End of July

Long time Microsoft watcher Mary-Jo Foley, in her column on ZDNet, let us know that Microsoft will be letting volume licenses and software assurance customers have the Windows 7 Final Release before August 1.
I’m wondering how this will pan out for them, as most business users are wary, and usually wait until at least a year after release, or Service Package 1, whichever comes first.
I know that lots of enthusiasts ran the beta, and are running the Release Candidate, but there has been no news about how many businesses have deployed machines with the releases.
This is, to my way of thinking, either a big gamble that will pay off, or a stunt that will be widely reported as a non-starter, leaving Microsoft picking off the egg pieces.
