Al Franken Wins

Though the Minnesota Republican Party did almost everything they could to stop it, Saturday Night Live has its first alumnus in the Congress. (see here)

It’s now April, and for all this time (since November 4), the Republican candidate was doing his best to make Franken go away. Two (not so) funny things about this are the facts that each time the Republican opponent challenged another set of ballots, saying that they should be counted, those same ballots served to move him further from his goal, and the same national Republican party that asked Al Gore to give up his bid for recounts ‘for the good of the nation‘ was pushing with every ounce of effort to keep this going – until such time as Franken was defeated.

I guess that the goose/gander thing doesn’t apply to the Republican party.

Here’s to that 59th vote!
