Also, for those afraid of, or not inclined to, building their own, PC Magazine has a couple of good choices.
Lots of people have gaming on the brain, but not much green in the wallet. For these people something other than the latest mega-dollar AlienWare or Dell XPS will have to do. The choices given in this article will make the gamer happy, and the wallet (or the wife) won’t recoil in horror when the price is mentioned.
not a bad looking machine, either! Custom paint is not for everyone anyway.
Just because the players aren’t all household names doesn’t mean that these choices aren’t good ones. Remember, when XPS was started, no one thought Dell was capable of getting a good gaming machine past the bean counters, and the name AlienWare was simply … alien.
