Sprint Trying to Sell Nextel

Sprint should join forces with Microsoft, their management styles mesh perfectly. Both companies increase market share by purchase, instead of innovation, both have top level executives completely out of touch with reality, and both have a patent disregard for their customer base.
Well, to be fair, Sprint wins at customer disregard hands down. Only the idiots at Sprint would have the temerity to ‘fire’ customers for demanding customer service. This move happened to many who were given 30 days notice to find another carrier.
Now, Sprint is shopping the Nextel brand around, to see what it can get for this once high quality, well regarded service. Since its acquisition by Sprint, many of the customers are very disappointed in the service quality and the individual customer service.
Nextel was very well regarded by its customer base, which became increasingly upset when promised capacity updates were not made after the merger of Sprint and Nextel. Nextel customers continue to be alienated by the Sprint customer service, as the current style of help is totally different from the pre-merger style.
Now, also widely reported is the possible purchase of Nextel by Deutsche Telekom, owners of T-Mobile. DT is cash rich, so it could immediately step in and supply the capacity updates sorely needed, and the T-Mobile customer service has consistently been rated tops by independent consumer groups like J.D. Powers. That alone could alleviate some of the pain the Nextel customers feel, and bring some who left back into the fold.
A T-Mobile purchase of Nextel would be the best possible deal, as Nextel customers would get a fair shake, instead of being treated like the red-headed stepchild, and Sprint could refocus on its core business - perhaps giving quality of service a shot.
