That is what is being given the latest (and hopefully, last) beta of Opera 9.50, otherwise known as Kestrel. It has been a long and rocky road for this revision of the browser, and Opera has taken a few knocks for the time taken, the seemingly unending backtracking of code, and the lack of clear progress.
(You might remember a smattering of Opera bashing in this column recently.)
Well, all is forgiven! This revision, 9.50.9945, still has a couple of flaws, and they are annoying, but nothing to cause the browser to crash, in 5 days of hard use. The speed is back, reminding me of the first beta, that seemed to be turbocharged and nitro-injected.
But don’t just take my word for it, check out the words of kindness on Ars Technica and itwire.
Prepare to be impressed.
