New Ultimate Extras Ultimately Extra…as in Superfluous

Yesterday some new additions for the Ultimate Extras package sprang into existence. There was new Dreamscene wallpaper, and two new audio themes.
While this may be nice, and technically keeps the dream of extra value for the most expensive version of Vista alive - is this anything beyond what might have been whipped out by some newbie drone in Redmond in a couple of days?
Is this value?
Should things added to Ultimate Vista be so easily dismissed, and utterly useless?
Remember, no one charged extra for XP Powertoys. They are usable on all versions of XP, and they do useful things - even the ones that duplicate abilities already there, like the Alt-Tab Switcher.
Oh, well. I guess this is what we have to look forward to with something that is Ultimate to begin with, and can’t easily be improved upon.
Right.

I feel sorry for all those who plunked down $400 for Ultimate. Microsoft sure pulled a fast one on the consumers……again.
