Examples of ‘Newer is Not Always Better’

Yesterday, I spoke about new things not always being better, and that there are so many things electronic that don’t make it to their first anniversary.
I was looking around at the many sites giving their roundup of all that was shown at CES (yes, this stuff continues for about 2 weeks after the end of the show), and found some excellent examples of solutions in search of a problem.
So here are just a few…
yes, we can all do without these. Everyone over the age of 7 can see how cheesy these are, and the ‘Maxwell Smarts’ of the world can look to better quality than 1960s technology
does anyone really need 3 of these on their forearm? Perhaps a multicell bag, for various electronics items would sell better. I can see these coming to a 99 cent store in the very near future.
Sure, having amplification for your iPod is nice - but does it have to look like a pig? Surely there is a more decor-friendly way to do this!
this is your webcam on DRUGS! This will surely be the very next thing at all the desks at Fisher-Price.
When thinking about this stuff, first you must ask yourself…who gave the green light for the production of this stuff? Just because the P.T. Barnum quote applies, how far away is the next sucker?
