Running Out of Names

  • No Related Post

On ZDNet, Mary Jo Foley, the person who keeps a watchful eye on Microsoft for us, states that a newer, different revision of the Service Pack 1 for Vista has been released to about 15,000 testers.

The number of testers is not really significant, the significant portion of the message is the non-availability of this update to the public, and that the changes are still coming. This means that a number of problems exist still, and that Microsoft is not through with its debugging of this Service Pack.

What will be difficult is the next set of changes. You see a whole new naming convention will have to be annointed from the hallowed halls of Redmond.  This last set of changes is dubbed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidate Refresh - a mighty name if ever there was one.

I do think that the next set of changes will have to have a name of at least 3 more syllables, however.
