After a long time of promise and nothing more, Electronic Arts is delivering four of the six promised games for the Mac platform. The titles released and shipping are ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’, ‘Need for Speed Carbon’, ‘Battlefield 2142′, and ‘Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars’.
The first titles are already available from the online Apple Store. and more will be coming available exclusively at the online store starting Tuesday, August 21st.
Apple was delighted to be able to deliver this news, as many are only waiting for a serious effort to come from the game companies as their cue to jump to the Apple platform.
It is hoped that EA will see that while exclusivity is good for Apple, it is not the best plan for them, and makes the games available to a wider audience, through a brick and mortar offering.
