Announced today is the business and consumer option of having Novell SuSE Linux installed on certain models, for now all laptops.
For business users, this will be very easily moved into, as SuSE has always been a favorite of corporate users. As much as Ubuntu has made strides onto the home desktop, SuSE Enterprise Desktop 10 has been geared from the start with business in mind, and for those who have to work with aging Netware servers, there is no better choice.
Lenovo will be providing support directly, with updates coming from the Novell servers. A real boon here would be support staff who don’t have to work through a language barrier or satellite transmission problems.
Every Lenovo laptop that doesn’t have Vista preloaded is another reminder to Microsoft that its days of being the only game in town are over.
