In a move to focus each of its business directions, and further muck up the industry with names more apocryphal and baffling than ever before, AsusTek, the conglomerate that produces ASUS and AsRock motherboards, will be splitting into three entities.
The move is designed to reduce the amount of difficulty some have with the degree of diversity within the realm of this huge manufacturer. Since the company produces OEM product for others who compete with the ASUS and AsRock brands there have been complaints of unfair practices. The split will take those qualms away, and extend the reach of the total influence of this powerhouse.
The company expects these brands to appear in the 1st quarter of 2009. ASUS and AsRock will remain, and new names Pegatron and Unihan will appear. As part of the split, plans for new facilities in Brazil, Vietnam, and India are planned.
