Evernote is a way for you to take notes and have your notes synced across multiple devices and computers. It currently has clients for Windows, Mac, and the iPhone. If you use Linux, or just have to use Evernote on another computer, you can use the Evernote web client.

There are a quite a few features, but really you must try for yourself.

If you browse the web like I do, you’ll know that sometimes, you’ll just go crazy with tabs. Normally in Mozilla Firefox, you will need to click File > New Tab in order to open up a new tab. But what if you are just simply lazy. Isn’t there a better way to open up tabs in Firefox? Well, there are actually two other ways that you can open tabs in Firefox.

Hit Ctrl+T (In Windows and Linux) or Cmd+T (In Firefox), to open up a new tab.

If your tab bar is visible, double-click the tab bar.

Hopefully, you will find this useful in your Web browsing.

Here are some more Firefox shortcuts that you can use.

If you are like me, you have a ton of bookmarks stored on your browser. And, if you are like me, you also either use another computer or dual-boot two operating systems. If you use the Mozilla Firefox web browser (like me), then you wouldn’t want to miss this handy extension.

It is called “Foxmarks.” You need to create a free Foxmarks account. But, once you do, you get your bookmarks synchronized with the cloud. It works quietly in the background. The thing I like about this is that you can get a new computer, restore your operating system, or dual-boot between two operating systems, and all you need to worry about is whether or not you have Firefox installed. If you are at a public computer at an Internet cafe or a public library, you can log on to Foxmarks and access and edit your bookmarks from any Internet-capable computer.

Why don’t you give Foxmarks a shot? In Firefox 3, go to Tools > Add-ons > Get Add-ons and search for “Foxmarks”(without quotes).

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
