Lockergnome Moderator’s, Stop Editing My Blog Posts

So yeh (and i spelled it intentionally, I own the content in which I’m posting, don’t change it)
Lately, I’ve been noticing that my blog post’s are being edited by mods because I guess they figure its for the better.
Well here’s what I got to say. I put the links to my video’s on top of the post for a reason, don’t edit that.
The only thing I care at all for any lockergnome moderator to edit is spelling mistakes, other then that, leave my post alone.
kthxbi

Fair enough about the placement of the links to your “video’s” [sic]!
In the meantime, if you want to know how to avoid certain other potential calamities from being moderated (such as knowing when to use an apostrophe — not in the word “moderators” in your headline, for instance, but definitely in words like “doesn’t” — the difference between “then” and “than,” capitalizing the letter “i” when it’s a personal pronoun, checking your spelling, ending sentences with punctuation, and other really basic stuff), go ahead and read this, please.
In the end, understand that we’re trying to make Lockergnome something of which we can all be proud. Moderations aren’t done to make your post any worse, trust me!
Cheers!

So I have to ask you a question, would you rather have the Moderators take away your ability to post or would rather have a people not read your blog because of formatting or spelling issues that make their experience below par? It is a privilege to get paid for free to blog on this site and it is something that I don’t take lightly. Good day!

If the moderators are editing posts here, then I have to take my hat off and thank them. I’ve been deliberating for several weeks about whether or not to voice my concern with Chris or to simply leave Lockergnome. I started reading Lockergnome many years ago, when most of these new bloggers were still in grade school. Reading their unintelligible posts and rants have become excruciating. Most of the newer, younger contributors have very little to contribute of use. And when they do try to contribute something useful, their grammar and spelling make their posts nearly unreadable. I may be a minority, but I truly believe that your intelligence is reflected in your writing. If your writing makes you look stupid, then the chances are that I, the reader, am going to also assume that any position or opinion that you offer is also stupid.

Moderators should not edit chris’ post. He has a good rep and doesnt abuse content or language. He said you could fix spelling errors etc.. what your problem man. He said if you want to correct spelling, fine. Just don’t edit his post. i say if you don’t like it sorry. Chris could always go somewhere else. I will follow. he is very popular and I for one would not stop reading because of spelling errors. I know by watching he is a very smart guy and to imply he isnt because of spelling is judgmental and wrong. I say chris should take his traffic else were. he would be welcomed anywhere. loosing him would hurt this site more than it would hurt him so grow up and leave his post alone. its not yours to edit. Fixing spelling is fine but other than that, its nt right. i say chris should go were he is welcome. and not hated because of spelling or formatting or a coma out of place.

mods wouldnt take my privledges away dabrace, chris wouldn’t have it. i told him about the situation already, and he agrees, if I don’t want mods editing my blog for whatever reason, then I should be able to opt out.
kthx.

We’re walking a fine line here.
The issue boils down to just wanting (and in some cases, NEEDING) to help. The air could be cleared with a toggle, but we’ve mentioned several times (blatantly, might I add) that this system is still in a testing stage…
Only recently have we found a team of developers to upgrade / enhance what we’re trying to do here, and that will include some kind of Editorial flagging feature.
It has nothing to do with being judgemental. It has to do with trying to surface new talent and making sure they’re presented in the right light - and if this means we have to be a bit more careful with the screening process, then so be it.
mmiller3a nails it.

I’m a professional. I write here because I enjoy the break from my other writing, at which I make a decent living. I didn’t reach that point by associating my work with that of semi-literate amateurs who can’t spell or punctuate.

Now what I would appriciate if I could accept or reject the edits, because the only thing that annoys me in making blog posts is when things get rearranged.
