A Few Windows Vista Keyboard Shortcuts

Something that I think makes my life easier is keyboard shortcuts, especially when I am on my laptop. It is just more convenient than using the trackpad for everything. I thought I would share a few keyboard shortcuts some people may not know.
- Did you know you can now use a keyboard shortcut to launch items in your quick launch bar? Using Winkey + # the number would correspond to the items in your quick launch from left to right. For example for me Internet Explorer would be Winkey + 1, Firefox would be Winkey + 2, so on and so fourth.
- Winkey + Pause/Break will bring up the system properties. (This also works in Windows XP)
- Winkey + r Will bring up the run dialog box which is mysteriously missing in the Vista start menu. (This also works in Windows XP)
- Winkey + space Will bring your sidebar and any gadgets you might have on the desktop to the top of any other open window. The only thing this shortcut could do better is if pressing it again would hide it, instead of having to click out of it.
- You obviously know that Alt + Tab and Winkey + Tab will bring up the classic task switcher and flip3d respectively but did you know if you hold control while applying any one of the combinations the task switchers will not disappear when you release a key? Example Control + Winkey + Tab Will start Flip3D and you will be able to navigate the windows using your arrow keys or clicking on one with a mouse. Same works with the classic task switcher.
- Did you know you can edit the size of the icons in any folder with your mouse wheel? While not strictly a keyboard shortcut go to your desktop or any other folder and hold down Ctrl and move the mouse wheel up or down to adjust the icon sizes accordingly. Using this method you can make the icons either much bigger or smaller then the options you will get from the view menu or right clicking on your desktop.
