What Ya Need, What You Can Lose
When you buy a computer repair kit, your going to get alot of tools and some you really don’t need, and others you couldn’t live without.
1: Screw driver- This will probably come with a philips and flathead, you probably will never use a flathead on a computer.
2: Two socket drivers- One is for the ext card bolts, the other is for case panels.
3: A Retriever- This is for getting items that you might of accidentally dropped into a computer out.
4: A set of chip tweezers- This was used when ram was built into the main board and you needed these to gently pry them up.
5: A chip setter- Used for seating the chips. You will most likely never use this either.
6: A set of tweezers with rubber grips- Used mainly for jumpers.
7: A small philips, and screwdriver- Again you may use the philips, but the small flathead is useless.
8: A static wrist band- Used to keep you grounded, I like a rubber mat myself.
9: A POST card, this is for diagnosing hardware issues when you cant get to the post screen on the computer.
10: A diagnostic software package- Used for the same reason as number 8, only this is when your computer does post.
Thats bout it really. I’m surprised how many people don’t know what a kit contains, now hopefully you do.
