Bundling software. Does it really make sense?

This lesson should have been learned years ago but it seems as though everyone has to learn it the hard way. Haven’t we learned from the issues with Microsoft that it is not wise to bundle things that consumers do not want and, more importantly, can not get rid of once it is on there? I find it really funny that Apple would bundle Safari in with iTunes. I mean bundling QuickTime with iTunes at least made some sense, but this one makes no sense at all. I am not a big fan of Safari at all especially here on OS X, (I prefer Firefox) but that is the power of choice that we as consumers have and it is something that corporations need to listen to if they wish to keep on to our business.

In the words of Chris Pirillo, “The Community is Always Right.”

Anyway, here is a link to his article on this issue and, as always, you be the judge.
