Product: Gears of War(XBOX 360)

Review: Gears of War is a tactical third-person shooter game developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios.  There is a XBOX 360 version, a Windows version(with 1 extra stage) and a Mac OS X version. The game begins fourteen years after Emergence Day. Marcus Fenix, a COG(Coalition of Ordered Governments)soldier is successfully released out of his four year imprisonment by one of his new teammates Dominic Santiago. Marcus is then brought by Dom to meet his new squad known as the Delta Squad. Delta Squad’s next objective is to obtain the Resonator, which will destroy all enemy tunnels. However, it doesn’t seem to work……Gears of War is a fascinating game with awesome graphics. The storyline is awfully dramatic, you will never know what is going to happen next. Gears of War is basically a hide-and-seek game with powerful futuristic guns. Your best friend in this game is not your teammates, your best friends slabs of concrete. Why? Because while in action, if you don’t hide behind one of those, like in hide-and-seek, you might as well just get caught and die. Throughout the game, you will fight a vast amount of different enemies. The most common ones are humanoids aka Grubs. They wield Locust machine guns and some of them have shotguns or snipers. Later on in the game, Grubs have COG machine guns which is equipped with a chainsaw bayonet so look out! Other enemies include Boomers(big humanoids with Bazookas), Berserkers(huge monsters who are blind, therefore hunt by sound and smell)and Theron Guards(an improved version of Grubs which use other weapons). There are three difficulties in the game. Casual, hardcore and insane. Insane difficulty only comes after you have beaten the game. The key to be an expert in this game are headshots. Take cover, wait for the enemy to pop up and shoot their head, or areas aroud that. Gears of War has been given a lot of awards. It was rated as one of the most anticipated XBOX 360 Games in 2006. Gears of War 2 comes out in November 2008 and the trailers appear very amazing. I strongly recommend this game to hardcore gamers and players who are wanting to play a nice third-person shooter game. However, this game is a bit gruesome so I don’t recommend this people who can’t take bits and pieces and sudden scares.  RATING: 9.8 out of 10. AWESOME, NEARLY PERFECT.
