Welcome to IT Generalist

I am an IT Generalist, which is why I chose that for the name of this blog.  Unlike some people in the IT world, who specialize in network architecture, systems administration, programming, security, or one of the many other sub-categories of Information Technology, I don’t focus on any particular area.

I have been involved with computers since I was a child.  Starting with an S-100 bus computer and an Apple ][, and having spent time over at the Concourse Computer Lab at MIT when I was a bit older… I’ve managed to pick up a fairly wide background in computers, networks, network security and other related fields.

The reason I started this blog is to keep my technology blogging separate from the other writing I do on the World Wide Web. Here we go!
