Yes Virginia (and every other state), you can find a four wheel drive with good gas mileage … as long as you say goodbye to driving that big honking SUV.
So forget about the Escalade … no matter if Cadillac’s giving 0% financing deals. But you don’t have to give up that dream of driving a 4WD Cadillac. You just have to think different (in a non-Apple way).
It’s all about downsizing.
There are dozens of four wheel drive vehicles that deliver acceptable gas mileage … not insanely great mileage, mind you … but better than you might expect, in today’s terms.
Many of the vehicles themselves are eye-openers. Who would have thought of not just one AWD Cadillac sedan, but two?

While I was in the Republic of Honduras in 1988 with the US Army we had a leased Toyota 4×4 crew cab pick up that got 70 km/gal. that translate to 40 mpg. why can’t I get one here now?
