Every once in a while, I get the urge to write a piece of inflammatory prose. Like poking a pack of caged tigers with a stick, these pieces never fail to elicit a response from a select portion of the Gnomisphere. For the most part, sage Gnomies simply mutter, “he’s up to it again,” to themselves and let it pass. But every once in a while I’ll get a real doosie of a response. (Like the time I wrote about breathalyzers.)

I don’t recall letting too many zingers fly since what Chris Anderson might call the democratization of content here on Lockergnome.

While the new format encourages community and participation, there’s a certain marginalization, too. The overwhelming flood of content can obscure the gems. Three years down the road and I’m still trying to figure out how best to wield the power of this thing, as the rules of engagement change with the seasons.
