Get a Better Deal on Your Car Insurance

Have you checked your car insurance rates lately? Ever stopped to think how much you might save by shopping around? It’s nothing like the bad old days when those rates were cloaked in mystery. Auto insurance companies are fighting for your business like never before. No doubt you’ve noticed how hard the car insurance companies are working at it, with a never-ending torrent of television and Internet advertising.

Take the Geico gecko, for example. Who would have ever thought a lifelike three-dimensional animated lizard (with an accent, no less) would be the most likable (and recognizable) representative for the great animal kingdom that is the insurance industry since Marlon Perkins? Or how about the commercials that star the actor best known as Mini Me?

A while back, I received a note from a gnomie that successfully reduced his car insurance rates. Terry’s story is well worth a read.

It’s not just the commercials, of course. It’s the availablility of online price comparisons that have changed the game.

    I have not compared car insurance but maybe I should. Anyway, to do it right, you must know your current coverage so you can compare apples to apples. Also search for claims service comparison. Cheap insurance doesn’t do you much good if they don’t cover or you have to fight tooth and nail every step of the way. What does the company do after you have been with them for a while? Question to ask is how much will your home owners insurance go up when you switch. You usually have a discount if you have all of your insurance needs through one company. |Lastly, I would suggest to contact your current company and give them a chance in the bidding. After all, you have a current relationship…….
