Switching From CMS To CMS

I apologize for my lack of recent posts. I’ve been laying low, trying not to cause trouble while the guys get everything in order. Switching from one application to another isn’t something you take lightly… especially when it’s a bread and butter app. Switching a Web site’s Content Management System (CMS) with a legacy of content? That’s a monumental undertaking, my friends. To swap out a CMS successfully, you need to grit your teeth and plan carefully.
You may have noticed the site’s new layout. Or perhaps the odd look of the newsletters. It’s not happenstance. With the proverbial flip of a switch, the CMS engine that runs Lockergnome was swapped out. Out with the Flathead Ford, in with the Supercharged Hemi. This post is my first opportunity to fiddle with Lockergnome’s new content management system.
Needless to say, I’m stumbling around in the dark.
While I’ve long considered changing the content management system on my personal sites, my needs are small potatoes compared to what’s rocked Lockergnome over the past weeks.

Hi Dan
If you think you’re confused by the new system, take the trouble to ask your user base what they think! Nobody else has, as far as I can tell!
My take is simply that the new system is one confusing mess, chock full of redundant information and topic headings that have very little to do with their content and primarily focused on generating ad revenue than helping folks with problems!
And for the record, I don’t really give a tinker’s dam where Mr. Pirillo goes on his many vacations or what he or his wife does on them! Lockergnome is apparently turning into one of those abominable “social networks” or perhaps something worse!
