Expense Reporting Software Experiences

Do you use expense reporting software? Want to share your experiences with the Lockergnome community?
We’re planning a series of articles on conventional and web-based expense reporting software and need your input. Experienced expensers know that a company can save a ton of headaches with the right expense report application, but that the wrong path will cause an ocean of grief…

So are you ready to sound off and let Gnomieverse know what works and what doesn’t?

You don’t have to write a doctoral thesis, my friends… a paragraph or two would do (but we’re always happy to have more). Just hit that comment link and let us know your experiences.

Good or bad, we want to hear them all…

ExpensePoint® - A Cost-Saving Solution
ExpensePoint® provides businesses with the ability to control and monitor their expenses. How?
The average cost for filing a manual report is estimated at a staggering $75.00 per report. By simply automating this process using ExpensePoint® companies can greatly reduce that cost to a mere $9.55 per report. When the savings are multiplied by the hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of reports being filed by each year by typical corporations, the savings are incredible.
Automating with ExpensePoint®, can reduce reporting costs by as much as 87% and could add hundreds of days in saved productivity to their traveling staff. A return on investment can be expected within one to six months, and not to mention the benefits realized in increased employee morale and satisfaction. Consider this; a company that has 100 traveling employees with each employee submitting just 1 single expense report per month could save in its first year a whopping $91,092.
The facts speak for themselves; ExpensePoint® saves time, money and adds excellent value to a traditionally non-value added process.

The company I work for uses Concur. I am amazed at how much a chore it is to use the software. Agonizing. I had only used a paper system before and am very computer literate so I was open to giving this a try. The last time 6 of us traveled we computed that it took a combined total time of about 40 hrs just to do an expense report for 4 days of travel! The software kept crashing, was extremely slow - and obtuse on top of it. I know they will get it right but I hate suffering through being the experimental subject.

I manage a sales team that travels a lot and we recently switched to Concur. So far it has been great and the entire team says the learning curve was quick and I hear less complaints. Concur has a good approval process that also has helped me manage my expense budget for my organization.

Concur is the most time consuming expense system I have ever used. I’m computer savy but this was designed to keep salespeople at their desks filling out reports for Finance bean counters who got hoodwinked into this scam !
