Re-Locating ATM Machines

Owning an ATM machine seems like a nifty business… if you have the financial wherewithal and stomach for risk. Risk? What Risk? Well you need to be able to deal with those citizens who think it’s acceptable to haul off your ATM machines, never mind the GPS tracking device that’s installed within. Remember that backhoe-liberated ATM story? It gets better. Today’s pinched ATM machine saga involves a hot-wired forklift…

KRCA 3 reports that an ATM machine stolen in Sacramento, California turned up in Loomis.

The machine was located via an internal tracking device. But, in the words of Porky Pig, “that’s not all, folks!” The police found a number of other missing goodies when they went to retrieve the pilfered ATM.

It all sounds vaguely familiar. If this wasn’t a plot twist in a TV movie of the week, it should be.

Forget about the backhoes and forklifts, I still dream of the day when I own a string of PC-based ATM machines. And since I’m dreaming, lets put those ATMs in a nice little resort town…
