iTunes Store Giving Music Away

On a whim, I bought the Saturday Night Live - Best of John Belushi offering from the iTunes Store a few weeks ago. I’ve always been a fan of Belushi’s work, so when I saw that the collection was one of the first downloadable videos in the iTunes Store, I figured that it was time to give this newfangled video download thing a whirl. It was a nice surprise to see this note from Apple in my inbox today …
We noticed that you recently purchased a Best of Saturday Night Live video compilation. To thank you for being one of the first customers to order this compilation, please enjoy this free song code, good for any two $0.99 songs on the iTunes Music Store.
Now I’ll freely admit … At $11.99, I thought that the Belushi video was a bit on the pricey side, considering the resolution. But I figured that it would be the perfect type of content to bring on the road. How could I resist owning a legitimate digital copy of tasty classics like Samurai Delicatessen and Cheeseburger Cheeseburger Cheeseburger?
Receiving iTunes Store credits for two free songs is something I hadn’t expected. Sure, it’s a small token of customer appreciation, but it’s a kind one.
Now if they only had Radiohead’s Creep available for download, I’d be a happy camper …
