The combination of digital media consumption with exercise is quite compelling. The trick is to find the right combination of technology.
While you might be able to use a PC while working out on a Nordic Track or stepper, using a Bowflex or other weight machine won’t offer the same opportunities. Of course, there’s a big difference between aerobic exercise and strength training, but finding the right diversion (and inspiration!) is key to your continued success.
Some folks can get by happily with the soundtrack provided by a good MP3 player and a set of head phones, while other folks need visual input–even video games–to keep sweating away the miles.
