You’ve put off getting a new cell phone. You’ve put off getting an MP3 player. You’re waiting for the convergence. “The first mobile phone with iTunes” has finally arrived. Is the new Motorola ROKR the answer to your dreams?
The new Motorola ROKR iTunes phone holds up to 100 songs and connects to both PCs and Macs via USB. Loading music is a snap: with the phone is plugged in, launch iTunes, then drag and drop your songs onto the phone icon.
Once your music is loaded, you can rock out with built-in stereo speakers, wired headphones, or Bluetooth technology.
The snappy little (3.77 ounce) phone also features all the stuff you’ve come to expect (or not): a camera with zoom (4x) and flash, video record and playback, instant messaging, text messaging, 176 x 220 color display, speaker phone, “real music ringtones” and Java. The unit operates on GSM (850/1900/1800) for use in the USA as well as internationally.
Talk and standby time are rated at 560 minutes and 230 hours, respectively.
Don’t expect to see this baby at every cell phone kiosk. Cingular is the first (and only) cellular provider to offer the Motorola ROKR.
Look for the introductory price of $249 (with a 2-year contract) to drop quickly if these babies don’t fly out the door …
