Online Bank Account Oddity
I’m a big fan of online banking. I can’t ever see going back to those bad old days when the bank only doled out the info once a month (and at least a week late). When you bank online, you know exactly what’s in your account, what’s cleared, and what hasn’t. So when I saw something odd in my account earlier this summer, right after it happened, I knew something was up …
I was checking my account online when I noticed a duplicate charge on my debit card. There were two charges from a gas station for the exact same amount on the same day. Bells immediately went off in my head.
What are the chances that I would incur the exact same charge twice?
Without online access to my bank account, I would have never caught it right away …
I quickly emailed the bank to ask what to do. While their email reply was prompt, I wasn’t able to resolve the issue online. Instead, I had to stop in a branch office to file a report.
Hey, you can’t do everything online.
The issue may take up to 60 days to resolve, but I’m glad I found it when I did …
