Web Conferencing

Macromedia has just announced a new version of their Breeze web conferencing software. Breeze 4.0 adds a bunch of cool new features. You can read all about the new bells and whistles in the press release, titled “Macromedia Goes Beyond Web Conferencing.”
I’ve been evaluating the previous version of Breeze for some time now. While I’ve been impressed by some of the web conferencing features (including the ability to share PowerPoint presentations online), there are certain areas that showed room for improvement.
A number of the problems I experienced may have been due to my Internet connection. That’s something that I need to fix ASAP. In fact, I didn’t even bother testing a web cam on my end, because of my provider’s upstream latency problems. I have come to the conclusion that my provider is ill-suited for web conferencing applications. It’s time to switch to a new service.
I’ll be diving back into the web conferencing waters once I get the new pipe hooked up. And I hope to be taking Breeze 4.0 for a ride, real soon. :)
