Dual Monitors and Wind and Junk, Oh My!

It’s been quite a day; I’ve spent most of it looking for the Gateway monitor that I picked for a second screen for my iMac. Dual Screen SetupAfter several sold out stores, I finally tracked it down at a Best Buy; unfortunately, they didn’t have the mini DVI to DVI adapter that I needed (thanks Apple for making a useless port that require an adapter to connect anything). Perhaps God was telling me not to purchase the monitor, since the power went out as soon as the nice clerk finished her extended warranty spiel. I also had to purchase a DVI cable, since the Apple cable was approximately two inches long.

Once all of these purchases had been made (I also received a $50 price adjustment for the XBOX price drops) I made my way home, amidst a violent wind storm. I was planning on consuming a tasty double cheeseburger and french fries, but the power outage had other plans. Apparently, you can’t fry things in cold oil, and they simply would not allow anyone to consume a luke-warm-eight-hour-old hamburger, but I digress.

On the way home, I witnessed a piece of siding flying through the air like a piece of paper. The wind resulted in the loss of our cable; fortunately my internet travels through the electric outlet, and we were not unfortunate enough to lose that. Our neighbors lost their utility line due to several downed branches, and we lost a few shingles and a piece of siding. The next few hours involved rearranging my room, seeing as my current computer desk was too small for two screens.StuffNow, I’m finally back in business, with only a small mess remaining, and I now have two lovely screens and am watching a movie on the other screen as I type. So, in short, this is why there are no grand videos for today. I plan to be back in action tomorrow after work.On an extremely serious note, at least two people died due to falling branches, so let’s all hope that the worst of the winds has passed.
