iPhone 2.0.2 Text Message From AT&T

Most of us know that iPhone software update 2.0.2 was released this monday (8/18/08). Tonight, I received a text message reminding me to update my iPhone to this current software. Seeing as I didn’t receive a message for 2.0.1, I found this a bit curious. The release notes stated that this latest update contained “bug fixes,” but I’m beginning to wonder what was important enough to result in AT&T actually reminding me to update. Most people claim that this update attempts to address 3G connectivity issues; however, I have something more sinister in mind. If any of you have seen Maximum Overdrive, then you know that an electronic uprising is possible at any moment. Lock your doors and unplug the WiFi.
