Strange Wilderness Fails to Amuse Even the Dullest of Creatures

Strange Wilderness, written and directed by Fred Wolf, chronicles Peter’s (Steve Zahn) quest to bring his father’s nature show back into the limelight. Peter plans to do this by tracking down and filming Bigfoot. There’s the entire plot….with quite a bit of fluff to stretch the movie to a painful length of an hour and 20 minutes. Wolf is also one of the minds behind Joe Dirt, Without a Paddle, and other various comedic romps. While these films were mediocre in nature, they were still entertaining. Strange Wilderness is neither mediocre nor entertaining. It is abysmal. I’ve watched this movie so you don’t have to, so be warned. While the film was good for about 10 minutes of chuckle time, the other hour and 16 minutes of pure misery were simply not worth it.
