Apple iPhone

I’ve been scanning the iPhone rumor sites on a daily basis, for the past week or two, and I’ve found a few recurring themes. Apple is most certainly releasing a 3G capable iPhone, which doesn’t mean much to the average user; the rumored price cut however, is another story. I’m sure that most of you have already seen the highly questionable “leaked” iPhone 2.0 pictures. What is certain is that many of us, myself included, are experiencing a very high level of anticipation. I’m currently sporting the 15 gigabyte model iPod with a beautiful greyscale display and a Motorola Razr. Despite all of my attempts to duct tape the two together, I am simply not getting the desired effect.  The only remaining item that makes me hesitant to purchase an iPhone 2.0 is AT&T. I’m completely willing to chuck out $70 a month in iPhone fees, but they could of at least thrown in a few more sms text messages (200 simply will not do). The two year contract is also a setback, seeing as I’ll be in Japan for 6 of the 24 months (a waste of $175 for a termination fee). Fortunately, AT&T has addressed this problem with a prorated termination fee reduction for new and renewing users. Still, my general aversion to AT&T is something I’m going to have to come to terms with.
