A new study from Ipsos MediaCT finds that more internet users in America are watching television shows and movies via the internet more than ever before. From September 2008 to April 2009 the percentage of Americans watching TV shows and movies online have doubled and the study also shows that most users who do watch TV shows and movies online are between the ages of 18 to 24. The Ipsos MediaCT has also found that 26 percent of Americans have watched either a movie or TV show on the internet in the last 30 days. This shows that online viewing of movies and TV shows is growing, but the study also finds that 64 percent of Internet video users would rather watch one-hour television programs on their TV than watch them on a PC or mobile device, rent them, or purchase them.

Well, I watch ALL my TV on the internet now. I cut my cable 2 years ago and haven’t looked back. I purchase twice as many DVDs now as I did a couple of years ago, but the extra $20 a month I’m spending on DVD purchases is obviously significantly less than the $100 a month I was spending on cable!
But I’m old - I haven’t seen the 18-24 category in a few years, I mean, Months! yeah! Months!
