Fully functioning Recycle Bin in the Windows 7 Taskbar

Windows 7 as of now doesn’t allow you to move your recycle bin to your taskbar for some reason and for those of you who like your desktop free from clutter are left with this one annoying icon just sitting there on your desktop. But there is an easy way to make your recycle bin fully functional in the Windows 7 taskbar and when I say fully functional I mean that you can right click on the icon and empty your recycle bin right from the taskbar. So here are the instructions.

1. Make sure the Recycle Bin is on the desktop.
2. Right click on the desktop and select New and Folder, then rename it anything you like.
3. Drag & drop the Recycle Bin on the new Folder to create a shortcut.
4. Drag the folder to the directory of your choice (i.e. C:\Recycle Bin)
5. Unlock the taskbar.
6. Right-click on the taskbar and select Toolbar and New toolbar
7. Locate the folder and select it and click on the Select Folder button.
8. Now there should be a Separator (dotted lines) on the taskbar.
9. Right click on the Separator and uncheck Show Text and Show Title.
10. Right click on the Separator and select View and Large Icons.
11. Now you have the Recycle Bin pinned to the taskbar.
12. You can also move the recycle bin to a location of your choice by moving the separator.
