Wife Kills Ex-Husband Virtually

A 43-year-old Japanese woman who was angry that her virtual husband suddenly divorced her in a virtual game called Maple Story was arrested for hacking into his account and killing his virtual character. The virtual husband, who was 33, had worked on building his character for a year and as soon as he discovered what happened he called the authorities. The woman told the police, “I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry.” The woman is now is being charged for hacking and is facing five years in the can.

five years is a bit much for that, don’t you think? $1000 fine would be more reasonable, plus she’ll probably lose more in the divorce.
