New Apple Netbook On The Way
Before I say anything, Apple has not confirmed this yet. So let’s get started. Recently the Chinese Times Newspaper wrote that:
Taiwan’s high-tech supply chain companies said Apple will debut its first Netbook in October; Apple will pose itself to tackle the Christmas shopping season.
Three (Taiwanese) corporations–Foxconn, Wintek, Dynapack–have received direct orders from Apple. (Wintek will be producing touch screens and providing relevant technologies for Apple.) In addition, some supply chain companies have privately confirmed deals related to Netbooks.”
So what do you guys think — is it really happening, or just a story to get our hopes up? Comment.

Hmmm… I have say I hope it does happen. It would definitely boost Apple’s popularity and give them more sales.
As for the touch screen…. Hmmmm…. I am not a big fan of them, especially typing on them. But then again it is Apple we are talking about. They always push thing to the next level and do it well. I would to see Apple’s version of the touchscreen.
Nice post….

Yeah Right. We get these half-baked rumors every time we near the Apple Update Period (October/November). Has anyone heard about the new purple flying pigs? They’re comin’ out around that time too!

Pose (sic, poise probably) itself for Christmas with an October debut? I highly doubt the timeline for this Christmas since there are lots of gears involved. This would be more plausible if debut means shipping date, but then counting back for announcements and marketing would mean we should see something in a month or so. Yet that means that the few real insiders leaking info would have already been out there. One of the recent rumors regarded Apple shopping for 7-10″ screens more seriously than normal. If that happened early this summer then I can’t imagine there’s going to be anything shipping this fall for Christmas, no?

The PC Market is doing very well in this new Netbook market. It offers to fill a void some consumers have. Yet I prefer full functioning PC’s. Im a HP HDX Man myself, and have tried netbooks. Apple does need something to get some sales leverage, like really bad.

Yeah, theres already an Apple netbook out there…Ipod Touch! only with a smaller screen! Why not just create a touch screen monitor to insert Ipod Touch and… Tada!!! Apple Netbook!

In hoes this is true, I have to agree with Fred. Now the Apple market could use such a device, but if a Christmas shipment is coming then there would have been some advertising for it already. All companylike to build a rage of excitement. I just don’t see how this could in our/Apple’s future. (Natpanday)-I like that idea, but having the full OSX would be a better upgrade from the limited 3.0. Also, if possible, a Ethernet port would be a plus. I find the wifi a limited connection. There are still too many places that don’t have FREE wifi.

I think an apple netbook would be great, ’cause u can’t really surf in the internet with an iPod touch. I’ve got one, and it’s quite straining to use the small screen. The MacBook Air is to big for taking it along all the time. A 9 or 10″ netbook (with touch screen) would perfectly fill the gap between iPod/iPhone and MacBook!
