Apple Earbuds can Shock You

Apple has been known to wow and shock the crowd. Well this time it’s a little more physical because on Monday Apple warned that its earbuds can give you a small electric shock due to the buildup of static electricity. I mean this shock won’t kill you or anything; it’s like when you rub your feet against a carpet and touch a door knob. Apple has also said that those who listen to their iPods in dry environments are the ones who are most in danger. So to help keep everyone safe (aka so Apple won’t get sued) Apple posted up some tips on how to make sure that static electricity doesn’t buildup in your earbuds.
- Use of a humidifier to raise the moisture level of the air.
- Get hand lotions to moisturize dry skin.
- Buy anti-static spray.
- Apple also recommends users wear clothes made of natural fibers instead of synthetic fibers.
- When users are outdoors, Apple suggests users keep their device in a bag or a case to keep it out of the wind and refrain from frequently removing it from pockets as the rubbing may cause static buildup.
All I have to say is come on Apple, I would rather take my chances of being shocked then making sure that my hands aren’t dry, I have a humidifier, and I also have to make sure I’m not wearing any synthetic fibers. I was also curious why this was brought up now when Apple earbuds have been out for some time? My guess is someone actually complained and Apple got nervous. So what do you think of Apple earbuds shocking people? Comment.

Yeah, this has happened to me in the past when I wear fleece jackets and I try to take them off with my headphones in. Ouch!
