As a Computer Scientist I find many science fiction movies reveal the future of robotics. Science Fiction has often predicted a future long before hand. The problem is Science Fiction usually depicts things completely different from the way things really turn out despite the correctness of the main idea. For example, about 100 years before the Apollo missions made it to the moon science fiction had already been there, but in a fanciful space ship and with aliens on the moon.

Unlike science fiction I think life will go on and who is ruling the world is questionable on what that means.

I think robots will out number people in 20 years, but will they really rule anything. Bacteria outnumber humans, but do they really rule the world?

I think robots will have far superior intellect than humans in 10 years, but does that mean they rule the world. Did Albert Einstien rule the world? In fact he mainly worked for people with low IQs compared to him.

I think robots will be faster, stronger, patient, durable, and much more than humans in 20 years. Does that make Lions the ruler of the planet?

So I won’t be surprised by killer, emotional, smarter, or evil robots. Although, ruling the world is more objective than factual.

What do you think?

Get a Free Audio Book

Are you tired of reading books? Me too. Over the years, I developed pulpuslaceratapohobia - and the only known cure for that is Audible. Finally, a way to digest words without actually having to read them. Professional voices are wonderful choices if you love literary works in audio format. Are you ready to read some audio books? Maybe you should just listen to them instead.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
