I recently made the switch from Firefox to Camino because I wanted to be able to store all of my passwords in the same database. I love how Camino and Safari share the same passwords that are stored in KeyChain. I to have had problems with Camino that being able to render websites correctly. This is because there are horrible web developers out there. I won’t claim to be any better because I not create websites.
With that said, a couple of weeks ago I was in contact with someone over at the Camino project about a couple of issues and they really helped. The first issue that I had was related to being about to view PDFs within Camino. I asked this because when Adobe Reader is installed, Safari is capable of viewing PDFs rather than having to download the PDFs and view it in Preview. The Camino person referred me to http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf/. Great little plugin if I do say so myself.
The second thing I asked about was a compatible User Agent for the browser. The Camino person referred me to http://www.derailer.org/useragent/. Works great and makes it possible to “mask” Camino to replicate any of the major browsers on the market. Works great. It even fools the website.
If you decide to user either of these add-ins, make sure that all of your browsers are closed and that you put the files in the correct location. If I remember correctly, PDF Browser Plugins goes to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins> and I believe that User Agent goes in /HARDDRIVE>/User//Library/Application Support/Camino/PreferencePanes/ (you may have to create the PreferencePanes folder).
Hope these work for you. Probably your only other option is Opera which I have yet to use on a Mac yet.
