I don’t mean to be insensitive to your perils but I have multiple Macs and I run Safari 3.0.3 beta as well as Firefox 2.0.0.7 (latest of each browser as of the time I wrote this) - and I almost never get crashes. I don’t mean to insult your intelligence, but could this be a permissions problem on the drive, extensions you may have installed, or some other factor? My question is, why would both work fine on my multiple systems but crash on yours? I am not blaming you or your computer, but obviously SOMETHING is going on because it works on some systems and not so well on others (yours in this case). I don’t mean this as an attack on you, but there must be some other factor coming into play here. You didn’t really specify what you are doing when the crashes happen - viewing videos, surfing Google or some regular site, or if it only occurs on certain sites/pages/types of pages, etc. More specifics are needed to help diagnose the problem. You seem like a pretty knowledgeable guy so I assume you have tried the basics (use Disk Utility to do a repair permissions on your drive, cleaned the cache of both browsers, etc.)
Are you using the latest versions of both? Final release or beta? Which if any, extensions are you using on each? Has this problem always happened, and if not, when did it start happening? Did you make any changes just before it started to happen? Did it occur after installing one or more updates?
Please share these details and maybe I can offer some ideas. Thanks and good luck!

Hi,
Thanks for your comment. I repair my drive permissions regularly and I
also have multiple macs both intel and PPC. The problem seems to be
isolated to my Intel iMac and it always happens when I have several
windows open with a few tabs in each. I am running final releases
only. I only have session manager installed on firefox. This problem
happened periodically in the past year but more and more often in the
past months. I have yet been unable to determine what has been causing
all these problems and I appreciate any help you can provide.
Thank you,
Spencer Nick

I have had quite a few problems with firefox in my imac as well. It seems like since the last big update to firefox, that it has been *somewhat* unstable on my machine. If i ever want to watch videos, via youtube or myspace, i just start up opera and load them in opera instead. If i try watching them via firefox then firefox will kind of freeze. It just doesn’t load anything after that. Its not truthfully frozen, because i can look at the content of the page that is loaded and stuff like that, but i have to close it completely, not just click the ‘X’ but right click the dock icon and quit, then reload it for it to run.
