Okay, I came home Friday night and my mom asks me to try to bring my dog, Baby, inside. I had to carry her to the porch. She went straight to the front door and layed down. She was panting very rapidly. The panting eventually stopped and she started breathing a little too fast as if she was using her whole body to breathe. We let her sleep inside that night. Saturday we tried all the vets in town, none of which could take her. I went ahead and went to the “Mansfield Meet of the Minds.” When I got home, mom had let Baby out back to use the restroom and couldn’t get her to come back in. So I carried her inside and set her down. She went straight back to the front door again with the same panting and labored breathing. I started to get worried. Mom told me to go buy some Baby Aspirin, but I refused and started dialing all the vets again, most of which were closed. I finally got an answer at VCA Animal Hospital of DeSoto and they said that they could look at her as soon as I could get here. So we went up there, they looked at her and said they’ed need to keep her for observation, but since they weren’t a 24 hour they were worried something might happen overnight. They sent us to Metroplex VCA Animal Hospital in Irving. We checked her in. They gave us updates on Sunday. They were running a test on her this morning (Monday) and she had a seizure. Turns out she had lung disease and they could help her, but her life would be painful. So we decided to have her cremated. We went to say goodbye to her, but she didn’t even know who we were. We had her a good 11 years. She was a great dog who was completely faithful to us. Rest in Peace Baby.
