upgrading to the 3g iphone…well are ya?

Well the big announcement has been made, now comes the decision to either upgrade to the 3G iPhone, or just stick with the current one. For myself, the new iPhone is great, but GPS and 3G alone does not warrant the upgrade price for me. While these two features along with the price cut, make the iPhone much more attractive, these just aren’t features I would be using on a daily basis.
I am actually more excited about the release of the 2.0 software update, and the opening of the App Store on iTunes. The previews of the applications and games I have seen so far look amazing, and it will be great to have applications that don’t require visiting a web page to use.
That is what I plan to do, but what about you? If you have a current iPhone, are you going to upgrade?

The new iPhone is very tempting, and the price tag APPEARS to be quite worthy of a second look. Sadly, the phone ends up costing you more than a few pennies more over the term of your contract with AT&T considering their rates for 3G connections.
The iPhone is a great piece of technology and I’m sure that if it actually does have tethering and internet sharing capabilities, I’ll be picking one up. If it doesn’t, then I’m going to have to stick to the Blackjack for yet another year.
