Since I have the “Windows desktop manager has stopped working” error which apparently is due to the aero glass feature I wanted an easy way to turn the feature on and off and I discovered a way that does that easily and I wanted to share it with you guys so hope it helps:

1: Right click on your desktop, highlight new and select shortcut.

2: You’ll get a box appear asking you to enter the location of the item, since this shortcut will be to turn aero off then paste this into that box: rundll32.exe dwmApi #104

3: You will be asked to give a name to the shortcut so you can put whatever you want here, I put aero off.

That’s it, when you double click on the shortcut your aero will be turned off and for the way of getting aero back then follow those same setps but in step two put this in the location box: rundll32.exe dwmApi #102 and simply call the shortcut aero on. When you double click that while aero is off then your screen will flash a few times and aero will be back on. Hope this helps
