The software you need to jailbreak the iphone 2.0 firmware has been released! The program is called pwnage tool and you can download it from here and you can follow the tutorial on how to jailbreak it here.

Now that I posted all the links for you to rush too and be happy with I recommend you don’t rush! To me this app is risky as my experience has not been good, I have not been able to jailbreak the 2.0 firmware at all and have had quite a bit of trouble with the whole program. I would not recommend this to anybody at the moment, I rushed into this because I wanted to test it and give my feedback to other jailbreakers so no do not try this at the moment as it’s not worth it.

The best thing to do now is wait until apps become available in the installer because at the moment if you jailbreak this firmware then you’re basically holding an unlocked 2.0 and that’s it, no apps will be available through the installer. If you’re an iphone 3g owner then there is no unlock feature at the moment but jailbreaking is possible so since there is no unlocking for that then that’s another bad thing that goes towards it. If you want a list of pros and cons then you’ll be seeing a lot of cons at this current time but I’m sure it will get better as they continue working on it.
