I pwned my iPhone - not the 2.0 firmware though

In one of my last posts I had a comment from Matt saying that a program called pwnage would be able to jailbreak and unlock the 2.0 firmware in time, I had previously looked up on pwnage before but since I found ziphone to be an easier solution to unlocking I wasn’t interested in using pwnage. After a decision I made on unlocking my phone and being able to sync it on my main PC and not on my Mac I thought that I would use pwnage to unlock it, pwnage is the main name for it but the Windows version is called WinPwn, which is what I had to use in this case.
I won’t go into all the step by step things I did but I will say that I find WinPwn a really great way of unlocking the iPhone, it is a bit more complicated than what Zibri does but it’s worth it. When you jailbreak an iPhone you get access to the installer app and then you have to download every app you had again which could take a while depending on how long it takes for you to refresh the resources you have but in WinPwn you are able to add any app from the installer you want to the custom firmware that you’re creating. What WinPwn does is it lets you create your own custom iPhone firmware so you can add apps you want, so when you restore to that custom firmware you made then the apps you added are there right away, you can also add your own custom boot up image instead of having the basic grey apple.
That’s really as far as it goes for the whole customizing, there are other settings but that’s advance settings for playing around with the boot loader version and unlocking the phone. You are also limited to the amount of apps that you can add to the firmware as the more you add then the longer it’s going to take to create it and the overall file size of the .ipsw will be bigger. If you want to download winpwn then go here, currently WinPwn is in RC1 (release candidate 1) but it works fine with no problems. For a tutorial on how to use WinPwn then go here. If you want a great way for unlocking your phone then use WinPwn but if you want an easier way of doing it then I suggest you download ziphone from here, you can find tutorials on how to use ziphone on YouTube.
