Microsoft, the gloves are off

Here we go again, this is indeed a rant about both vista and Microsoft, I have been watching many videos about ranting on at vista and Microsoft and in a lot of ways i agree with those people. In some ways i do see that saying vista “sucks” isĀ  something you can’t really say that unless you have something to back it up with and that something has to a very good excuse. Many people have said “i hate vista cause it’s just bad” and that’s not a reason as to why you think its bad.

Ok that’s the defencive part over with, i’m now going to say my honest reasons as to why i think vista isn’t bad but could seriously be better. Number one compatibility, this is the biggest issue for a lot of users and the fact that Microsoft themselves don’t have hardware support for their own hardware is just so so low i mean it’s something thats just making me think so badly about Microsoft that they basically can’t be bothered to give support for something they have made yet they have happily made software available to be used on a mac like office 2008 and Microsoft messenger. There is no reason why Microsoft can’t fix that because it’s just like their rubbing it in by saying here’s a bad operating system and then we’re going to make it worse by making nothing work.

Number two support, now i know i’ve blogged about them offering help before and that they opened up and let users contact them for free about updates but seriously for free!!!! We shouldn’t have to pay for something that they’ve screwed up on they’ve supplied us with something that obviously doesn’t work and they should be the ones to fix it. I will give them credit for actually being able to fix my problem and that’s it, i had a guy called Simon contact me and very kindly help me through my issues but then he said he’ll pass me on to someone else and the first thing that came to mind was “oh he doesn’t know”, the person he passed me onto did manage to fix it and i thanked them but then a few days ago it returned now in my opinion when something is fixed then it shouldn’t break again especially when the makers themselves have said that it will fix my issue. I am not offending Simon or anything like that, i am grateful for the help he offered but really i should not be having these issues.

Number three features, ok the highest priced version of vista has the “ultimate features” and what are they? Nothing but animated wallpapers and poker, now it’s clearly obvious that both of this features can run on not only other versions of vista but also on windows xp so why are we being told that if we want these “ultimate” features then we’re going to have pay extra for something that works on something earlier that they’ve made. This is going back to an earlier post i made about the desktop manager error and saying how they’ve given us a nice little neat feature that’s fun but it comes with errors, why bother? Why should we “suffer” from these errors just by enabling something that again Microsoft made themselves for us to use happily and freely?

Number four Microsoft, yes Microsoft themselves are an issue. In a way it feels like they’re cheating us, not only are they not offering us support for something we need help with but at the same time they are making software for Apple their “competition” like i earlier mentioned, now if we’re having all these problems on their system why ignore us and make something for someone else when they clearly need to make something that’s going to support stuff they make. I think we can pretty much say that everything they have given us has increased the number of problems we’ve had and whats happening in their upcoming operating system windows 7? Another new feature that in the long run will probably fail and give us more and more error messages that Microsoft will continue to ignore.

Number five forcing, what do i mean by forcing? Well there have been statements around that they will no longer release updates or support for windows xp after a certain date this basically saying use or “unusable” system. Why should we use something that clearly we’re not enjoying and at the same time (once again i mention this) Microsoft makes programs for their competition?

At the end of it all we just want it to work, we want their attention so they can fix what some of us (at least me) wants to use but at the same time is constantly saying wrong wrong wrong. Some of the stuff might be just moaning and yeah feel free to talk back to me on some of it and i will correct it but when i look at it all i really do lose the effort of even trying to get solutions and i just live on with all the errors i receive.
