Faster Boot up time for XP

After doing my faster shut down post i had a request to post a faster boot up speed, i don’t think it’s a great improvement but it’s here to help you out if you want to try it.

1: Go to start then run and type regedit

2: Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControl Set\Control\ContentIndex

3: On the right, scroll all the way down to the bottom and you should find something called StartupDelay

4: Double click on it and you will get a pop-up box, tick decimal and you should have a value of 480,000

5: Change the 480,000 to 40,000 and then restart your pc and hopefully there will be a bit of a difference

Thanks for reading, Luke.

I previously stated that this could be done in windows vista but it got pointed out to me that it can’t, i’ll look into a way of getting this done in windows vista. Apologies if anyone was trying this in vista
