iWeb

I recently looked into Apple’s program iWeb; I tried using this before but never really got into it but I never judge something until I’ve used it at least twice. At first I watched a video on YouTube to see what real features you could get out of this and OK there is a lot of good things you can do with this. I especially love the features of adding Google AdSense, YouTube video linking, and being able to add various amounts of media.
After all the browsing these are the only good things I found with iWeb - everything just seemed to be a bit of a disappointment to me. The themes are not the best things, that’s for sure, although they are OK for blog sites but the themes for actual Web pages is nothing amazing and I found this a huge downfall for people who want to make professional looking Web sites but don’t have that option in a simple program. Thats the main thing about iWeb though, it’s simple and thats it so even someone who’s not very good with Web design could use this as there is no need for coding at all this is just pure basic designing and typing out the content.
Another brilliant feature with this was positioning where the ads for Google go on the page and what colour they are; I found this really really good to make the ads blend in with the colour of your theme. The worst thing about this though is of course the .mac subscription. Ok maybe you don’t mind paying for it but the fact that it’s a yearly thing at a price i’m not a fan of well it’s not something i’m going to do. I’m currently working on my own personal blog site and it’s hard with using all the coding and css so the main best thing about iWeb is the simplicity and thats what will make this program popular.
